The MTL studios have a dedicated digital audio facility for producing professional quality recordings for use in both video and music production.
Live TV requires live sound mixing. Our facility provides 64 channels of automated digital audio, enabling students to experience large-scale live production. In the Video Production Techniques course (part of the Multimedia and Digital Systems BSc), students often use live music and interviews.
The sound room also contains a large range of equipment for producing music using midi synthesisers, which can then be mixed down and mastered with the dedicated signal processing equipment.
