The Music Informatics Research Centre at the University of Sussex features a number of computer music researchers and electronic musicians. In alphabetical order, let me direct you to their research and web pages: Chris Kiefer is investigating the application of Human Computer Interaction techniques in the design and evaluation of musical interfaces. He has already completed one case study based around the Nintendo Wiimote as a musical controller. Anna Jordanous is exploring computational creativity and music, including links between musical and linguistic systems. She has worked on automatic accompaniment and voice allocation in polyphonic music. Thor Magnusson of ixi software is intensely concerned with issues in the creation and philosophy of digital interfaces for music. Matthew Yee-King is working on genetic algorithms for sound synthesis, including aspects of live performance and automatic sound analysis arising from his research. |
