The use of evolutionary computing techniques for developing autonomous adaptive robots has become increasingly common.

This page explores the basic ideas and fundamental research issues, the motivation for this area of research, and some examples of the evolutionary approach to design autonomous agents. This is followed by a brief summary and suggestion of the open questions in this field. Links to some of the researchers and groups dedicated to this area and a little bit about the author is given at the end.
