This is Alice. She is a distinguished artist because of her fantastic voice and her consequent artistic development over the years. She won San Remo in 1981 with Per Elisa and is still performing and producing, but now in a much different way. Her music matured as she went along. It was already in 1986 with the album Parkhotel when I got spelled by her music and lyrics. And it is worth learning Italian, since the lyrics are "alla cantautrice".
If my heart had a voice, it would be the one of Alice and it would babble in Italian or maybe sometimes sing ... some lyrics of Alice/Battiato/Messina/Camisasca probably.

My favourite songs are "Luci lontane", "Summer on a solitary beach", "Le baccanti", "Una notte speciale", "Una mano", "Nomadi", "Notte a Roma".

Notable her latest project with Franco Messina God is my d.j. about which Messina says: è un viaggio attraverso mondi musicali diversi ed eterogenei, lungo un percorso che propone "non musica sacra, ma la ricerca del sacro nella musica". It is a trip trough different and heterogeneous musical worlds, along a road that suggests "not sacral music, but the quest for the sacre in music".
Whatever you now may think about it, it is different. And it is the right music to relax and to dream away on a rainy Sunday afternoon. With "god is my d.j." Alice is on tour.
