Deciding When to Change Modes

• Service hosts make the decisions on exactly when a method is available and when not.

• They specify this in the form of a policy, that is to be imposed on service access and use.

• The policy determines availability of methods, thereby imposing controls on client access.

• These policies are separated from the service code itself, not hard-wired in. Hosts can add or replace policies dynamically.
