The lowband server currently acts as a proxy server with image manipulation capabilities. It can download and cache pages and images for you and then pass those pages on to you. The difference between the lowband proxy server and other proxy servers is that it will reduce the size of the images that it passes on to you by a number of means: reduction of quality, reduction of display size, reduction of colours, etc. In or for you to decide how you want the lowband proxy to manipulate the images that are displayed on your screen you must first register with the server: there you will be given the opportunity to define a policy. The server will follow your policy when passing on images to your browser.
To make use of the lowband server you must first register with the image server.
