This is a selection of photos from our workshop with Ambient Wood partners Bristol, RCA, Southampton and Nottingham. We all worked to prepare an enhanced woodland learning experience where 2 pairs of children interacted with each other on various findings in the wood. The two explorers probed for light and moisture readings in the habitat they explored and relayed their findings back to the two based in the den. The den pair relayed further relevant information to the wood pair so they could understand their findings better. The pairs communicated via walkie talkies. Whilst they were involved in these fact-finding activities, our communication network allowed various sounds and images to be shown to the relevant pair at appropriate times either via a screen in the den, or via handheld devices.
Scroll down the photos and hover your cursor over some of the photos for more information.
The children are introduced to the various equipment they will be using: handheld displays, probes for environmental measurement, walkie talkies to communicate, den table to monitor and enhance wood pair's findings.
