Overview

The RF table provides an interactive surface on which objects embedded with RF tags can interact. Two antennas are mounted underneath the table, the position of which had a separation of 150mm to minimise RF cross talk. These antennas are addressed with a free running multiplexer linked to a computer.

Usage Scenario

The table has a pictorial representation of the wood placed on top of it. Images of both the "Clearing", and "Wooded", areas provide context for the placementof tagged "tokens". The cross coupling of geographic position to what was found there, is then be digitally enhanced by use of a computer / display, through the placement of tagged object over the point of interest.

Applications supported by the device:

Table as input device
Table to identify and remember objects
Table to recognize discrete positions
