Geraldine Fitzpatrick has been the Director
of the
Interact lab since June 2003. She previously worked as a user
experience consultant in London and prior to that as a senior research
fellow with the Distributed Systems Technology Centre and Centre for
Online Health in Australia.

Graham joined the Interact Lab in 2007. He
is interested in accessibility and usability of video games and
interactive systems. In particular, how the user experience of video
games can be evaluated and how games can be designed for people with
special needs.

Eric is a Research Fellow working on the
EQUATOR
project and is involved with the design and build of interactive toys.
Before joining the Interact Lab, Eric worked in the robotics industry
developing machine vision systems and hexapod technology.

Dave's PhD is sponsored by the Equator
Project.
He is looking at ways of supporting intergenerational communication
through the use of technology, exploring the use of digital video,
networked/mobile media and domestic appliances as vehicles for this
kind of everyday contact. His broader research themes are focussed on
motivational aspects of technology adoption which account for
the
whole person; in play, immersed in creativity or as an aspect of their
community involvement.

Manuela is a PhD student sponsored through

EQUATOR project. She is developing an interactive art installation to
explore issues around enactive perception and collaboration by looking
at how people engage with the installation through bodily movements.

Cian is a PhD student sponsored through the
Equator project. Cian's research is looking at how video tools can be
made more
accessible for people with disabilities. So far his research has
explored how video editing tools can be redesigned to be accessible for
individuals
with complex disabilities and the problems faced users with mild
cognitive impairments
face when using video.

Fiona is interested in design considerations
of
virtual characters within collaborate immersive environments. She is
currently investigating intelligence cues for virtual characters with
particular emphasis on the relationship between behavioural fidelity
and visual fidelity of such characters.
