Centre for VLSI and Computer Graphics

Background

 

The Centre for VLSI and Computer Graphics has been around for at least 25 years starting life in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (now the Department of Engineering and Design), and is now located in the Department of Informatics.  The current director (Dr Martin White) actually completed his DPhil in the Centre in 1994 under Professor Dick Grimsdale and Professor Paul Lister (the two then co-directors of the Centre). 

Back in 2003 the University merged its Computer Science and Computer Systems and Information Technology subject groups into the Department of Informatics as part of creating a larger School of Science and Technology.
