Research Interests

My current research interest is how the diversity affects the stability of systems, with a focus on ecosystems. To this end I have been studying various systems models such as Daisyworld, Self-Organized Criticality, and Ultrastability.

I'm also fascinated by the challenge of creating flexible and interesting artificial agents to play games against humans. A Go playing computer program is the ultimate emobodiment of this aim, as current theory of computer game opponents falls short when used in this task. I am investigating the use of coevolution to evolve neural networks that can play Go.
