Research Interests

My main interests are design automation and artificial evolution, preferably both at the same time. The focus of this is the `Evolutionary Electronics' sub-group in CCNR. My main agenda is to explore radically new kinds of electronics that can result from a fusion of reconfigurable hardware, artificial evolution, and ideas from neuroscience and thermal biology. This project is intentionally extreme, but I am also working with other group members and industrial collaborators to develop engineering applications in the short/medium term of evolved circuits which may be efficient, low-power, and fault-tolerant. I am also interested in the theoretical understanding of (artificial) evolution.
