Media Design, narrative and engagement

Friday 16 February 2007 (week 6)

I am a lecturer in online journalism and co-director of 'media citizens' a multimedia design and production company creating information designs largely for the public sector.

I aim to talk about the use of narrative and engagement in learning design using examples such as the Silwood Cybercentre project and a recent production for Ealing Council's Digital Challenge. I'll also be discussing participative media and the training models we apply to projects ranging from schools, adult learning and the community sector to university students at FDA, BA and MA level. Later, I'll talk about some current projects, which include e-learning and Confucious, and a live documentary about a dead whale. I think it would be interesting to talk afterwards about media literacy and the audience.
